Weekend Wrap Up - In Photos

It's MONDAY... UGH!  Why OH Why does it take SOOOO long for Friday to arrive, but Monday arrives so quickly?!

We had a GREAT weekend!

Started Friday night with Margarita Mania... Surprising, I know!  Lil Man decided to stay and help the neighbors with their flower beds in order to get ready for a birthday party.  He was SO excited about the birthday party, that he didn't mind working his tushy off.  It's crazy that I can't get him to put his laundry in the dirty clothes basket, but a birthday party can get him moving mountains of dirt.
(A Sangrita, because no good story ever started with a salad!)

Saturday started with a weigh-in.
I am still weighing in every Saturday (even after Fat Girl Friday) and it's much better than obsessing daily. MUCH BETTER!
This weeks weigh-in:
(Holy Hell, Calorie Counting WORKS!)

I picked up a new weekend casual outfit for less than $40!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a good bargain and I am not afraid to admit it.  I can't tell you how many compliments I receive that I follow up with "Can you believe it was only $7?"  People tell me ALL THE TIME that I shouldn't share my secret and I quickly tell them, when I don't share the price then you know that I've paid way too much! ;-)

Saturday evening I spent with my Sister and Mom at The Paint Pub!  We super LOVE this idea and I super LOVE our time together.  My Sister is about to PoP, so I know that I have to get all the time I can before she's busy with my Sweet Baby Kamille.

Saturday night, it was just Big D and Me since Lil Man was at his Birthday Party Camp Out.  We CHiLLaXeD, watched a documentary on ESPN and fell asleep.  CRAZY WILD Couple we are!

Sunday I spent the day at the neighbors, since the kids were still going strong from the night before.  Later in the afternoon, Big D shows up with the below and at first I'm like "SERIOUSLY?", but after a few beers with the neighbors I said, "Whatever...".  Pick and choose your battles people!

We ended up having dinner at BJs, because after a great day of girly gossip, and waiting on the Super Moon, I was just TOO exhausted to cook!  Plus, doesn't this California Chicken Sandwich look SO FREAKIN' GOOD?!

Hope you all had a FABULOUS weekend!

Favorite Things Friday - Can't Say NO

This Friday's Favorite Things are a few of my FAVORITE things that I can absolutely, positively not say "No" to!

1. Margaritas - Hellooooo!  Have we met?!  I love me some Tequila!  One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, FLOOR!  Speaking of Tequila, it's MARGARITA MANIA tonight!

2. Ok... I might (just might) have cheated on this one!  I can never, ever, ever, ever say "No" to a movie with Dwayne Johnson, to a fabulous pair of shades, to a bald man with tattoos and to a cupcake... EVER!  And then there's this pic of Dwayne Johnson, a bald man with tattoos, rocking a fabulous pair of shades, holding a cupcake!  HoTT!!!

3. Heels - If the shoe fits, buy it!  If it doesn't fit, buy it anyway and make it work!

4. Sex and the City - At any time of any day, if SATC is on I WILL WATCH it!  Everything I know, I've learned from watching SATC!

5.  Pennies - You can bet that if there's one on the ground, I will pick it up!  Heads up OR down, it still says, "In God we trust".

What are some of the things you can't say "No" to?!

Have a FABULOUS Friday!!!

Little White Chapel - Link Up with Holly and Mel

Holly and Mel are hosting a Wedding Deets Link Up today and so I thought... Why Not?!

button

Let me first start by saying that I never dreamed of having a big wedding, I never picked out a beautiful wedding dress and I never had these visions that would last a lifetime.
My dream was to find the perfect man, have a beautiful family and spend a life together that would fill my heart with happiness every.single.day.  I am living my dream!  I NEVER stopped and wondered if a wedding was important to Big D...

SO, my first trip to Vegas and TEN YEARS into our relationship, Big D surprised me...

Location -- VEGAS, baby!  Big D told me to get dressed for a night on the town, the limo showed up (not surprised... I was born to be driven from destination to destination by a driver I can hardly understand), we pulled up to a building and got out.  Big D looked at me and said, "Will you marry me?" and my response, "What would you do if I said NO?"... He said, "It's a long walk back to Texas!"  How could I ever say "NO" to this man?!

Bridal Party -- It was just Big D and I... We wouldn't have it any other way!

Colors -- We didn't have colors, but the Vegas Strip was ALL THE COLOR I NEEDED!

First Dance -- No dance for us, so we spend most Sundays dancing around the house together.  LOVING the life we live! The song I would choose is Fat Bottomed Girls... I kid, I kid! I'd choose Feet Don't Touch the Ground by Stoney Larue.

Honeymoon -- Hellooooo! We got married in Vegas!  That was honeymoon enough for me!  I might be Miss America, but I'm a low-key Miss America.

What Would I Change? -- Not one thing... Honestly!  This type of wedding would not work for everyone, but it's the marriage that is most important of all.  I am in a marriage that I could never have dreamed of!

How we fell in love is so precious and this man SAVED ME!

Favorite Things Friday - Fitness Edition

These are a few of my FAVORITE things to get me MOVING!

1. Saucony - I Love, Love these running shoes!!!  They are light and comfortable and are the best I have tried so far.  I've had less shin splints and because of that, I'm not changing!

2. Mio - I have tried both the Garmin and the Mio watches and I would still choose my Mio... Hands Down!  It does exactly what I need it to do, for the things I do.  It calculates distance, pace, calories burned, steps and your heart rate (without one of those insane belts)!  You can't connect it to the computer like the Garmin, but I didn't need that feature.  I need to know how many steps I took, how many calories I burned and how fast my butt was moving.  It works for me!  I still have both watches on the counter and grab the Mio every.single.time!

3. BondiBand - Hello!  How FUN are these headbands?!  They are not only fun, but the are functional.  Go to www.bondiband.com and get you a few... They are AWESOME!!!  They are non-slip, hold your hair back, keeps your earbuds in and they are just freakin' fabulous!!!

4. Old Navy Active Wear - If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I have an obsession with Old Navy Active Wear.  The Compression Capris are AMAZEBALLS!!!  The best part?!  They aren't see through like most active wear... HELLOOOOO SQUATS!!!  Go get you some TODAY and Thank me later.

5. 5 Gum - It keeps me going on my Jalks (Jog/Walks) and I never go without it.  It's tough to carry a water bottle, but chewing gum does the trick.  BTW - I ONLY chew green gum.  I'm weird like that!

What are some of YOUR favorite things?!

Have a Fabulous Friday!!!

It's Monday - Get Moving!

This weekend was my sorority's annual Girls Get-a-Way Weekend in Galveston (Oh Galveston) and we soaked up the sun at the beach.  We enjoy the sun, the laughs, the junk food and the booze!  Good Times, Great Friends and Girly Gossip... I love, love spending time with my Sisters!

(Cheers to the Freakin' Weekend)

(Toes in the Sand and a Beer in my hand)

(If only I was as long and lean as my shadow!)

Unfortunately, a fabulous girls weekend also means that I did not get one workout in and for the first time in more than 2 MONTHS I didn't not log my food in MyFitnessPal.  It's hard to log, when your days consisted mostly of frozen margaritas and carrots with Love Dip and your enjoying every minute of it!

The good thing?!  It's Monday and it's time to start again.  Time to get back on track.  Time to get moving.  It's as easy as that!  No one is perfect, we will all fall at some point, but you can always start again.  Don't give up!

I am ready for a new day and ready to get back on track!  Get up and get moving now!  It makes a difference and I'm slowly seeing it every single day.

Have a great week!

Favorite Things Friday - Daily Prep

Brown paper packages tied up with strings...

These are a few of my FaVoRiTe things for daily prep!

1. I must admit that I am a toothpaste snob!  Crest 3-D is by far one of my faves!  It does exactly what it says it will do and the results are beautiful.

2. Biolage Leave-in Conditioner: I do not use normal conditioner while showering, instead I use this leave-in conditioner and it's AWESOME!  The smell alone is worth the purchase, but it keeps my hair shiny and soft and it's not heavy.  Whoop!

3. Queen Helene Almond Massage Cream: Any guesses what I use this for?! My legs!!!  It leaves the most gorgeous shine on my legs and it's not oily.  They look glowy, healthy and just so much better.  The best part?!  It was only $5!!!

4. Big Sexy Hair Spray: I won't use anything else!  I love my some Big Sexy!  (BTW - That is what Big D was called in High School... Crazy Girls!).  Use it!

5. Body Spray: This might sound crazy, but I always, always, always brush my hair, put on lip gloss and use body spray every single night before bed.  I keep all kinds of body sprays on hand and I love them all.

These are just a few of my favorite things.  What are some of your favorite things?

Have a FaBuLouS Friday!!  I'm headed up the beach with my girls.  Cheers!

Celebrate Good Times... COME ON!

Today is my Bestie's Birthday and I just have to tell you that although she is not a fan of celebrating her birthday, I AM!

I cannot begin to tell you how important she is not only to me, but everyone who loves her.
Aimee is one of the most loving, giving people I have ever met.  She is incredibly outgoing and she is so freaking HYSTERICAL.  She has never met a stranger and I absolutely love this about her.  Aimee has many friends who all love and adore her, but she still has a way of making you feel like you are the most important out of all of them.  She is an amazing mother, wife and friend.

She has been there through some of my best moments and some of my toughest moments and she has loved me through them all. At times I am not the easiest person to love, but she never lets me know it.

I decided to Google "What Is A Best Friend?" and came across some serious stuff, like: "How to tell your best friend that she is a bad singer?", "What is a good song to play for a best friend forever?", and "What are the qualities of a best friend?"  Boy did it get me thinking...

I have had what I thought were best friends before and I gave these relationships all that I had.  It was not until I met Aimee that I realized the qualities of a TRUE best friend.

And YES, I keep saying "Best", because if you are lucky enough to have a friend like Aimee then you know it doesn't get any better!

When Nanny was admitted to the Hospital, I walked through the door and saw my Bestie's face.  Who does that?!  Who drops all they are doing and shows up when you least expect it, but when you need them most?!  SHE DID!  This is something that touches me often and something that I will never forget!

When Big D broke his shoulder and collar bone and couldn't work, who helped to get a "meal delivery system" in place?!  SHE DID!  All my Sisters showed up and helped out where they could!

When I lost 3 jobs in 18 months and was in the deepest, darkest place imaginable (I'm obsessed with working), who always lifted me up and encouraged me to keep going?!  SHE DID!  Positive Words mean SO MUCH!

When I need someone to vent to, no matter the subject, who not only listens, but provides valuable feedback?!  SHE DOES!  It's not often that someone asks, "How are you doing?" and REALLY wants to know!

When you go out with a group of people you hardly know, to a Restraurant that also has karaoke and REALLY want to sing Just A Friendly Little Cat, who thinks it's a genius idea and sings along?!  SHE DOES!

These are a VERY few examples of what Aimee has done for me!  A relationship is a give and take and she reminds me of that often.  I did not realize that I was deserving of a friend who loved me for me and a friend who would be there whenever I needed them (and expected nothing in return), until I met Aimee.  There are many times that I take her loyalty to our friendship for granted, but I never forget how blessed I am to have her friendship.

Aimee, not a birthday of yours goes by that I do not thank God for placing you on this Earth to befriend someone like me.  Thank you for being the friend that I could not imagine my life without and thank you for being the I-Can't-Remember-Life-Without-You friend!

Celebrate YOUR day, AC!  I love your guts!

Weekly Goals

Last Week Update: I did a great job achieving MOST of the goals I set for myself last week. Unfortunately, I had a procedure done on Wednesday and was not up to a full workout on Wednesday Thursday or Friday. With that said I didn't just sit on my butt, I got moving... for a little bit.

Here are the goals I set for myself last week... This week, I will try to achieve them once again... ALL OF THEM!!

1st Goal and probably the most important to me: Record everything!  You canNOT out exercise a bad diet, so recording everything is a BIG deal for me.  It helps me keep track!  I love the phrase, "If you Bite it, Write it!" and i'll be doing just that.

Download the MyFitnessPal app... It's FREE!  NO EXCUSES!
Guess what else My Fitness Pal does... Tracks your weightloss!  I weigh every Saturday and record it on My Fitness Pal.  Weighing every single day WILL make you CRAZY... Don't do it!!!  This Saturday I hit 20 pounds... WHOO HOO!

Speaking of excuses... IF only they burned calories, but they don't!  This week my 2nd Goal is to get in 3 workouts that burn a minimum of 500 calories.  It's not as easy as you think!  Every workout might feel like you are burning a gazillion calories (and I wish you were), but your not.  Bummer, I know!  With the help of my Mio and Garmin, I am brought quickly back to reality.

Water is VERY important and Goal 3 this week is to continue to drink a minimum of 8 glasses a day.

Along with my 3 workouts, Goal 4 will be get in two Yoga sessions.  Yoga is GREAT!

After a Holiday Weekend, Goal 5 is to get my butt back on track!  I LOVE this reminder!  No matter what, you can ALWAYS get back on track.

I am linking up with Jess over at Operation Skinny Jeans for this week's Weekly Goals Link Party

This is a great reminder that if you fall of track, set a few achievable goals for yourself and you're right back on!
